Lakshya Sen made history as the first Indian male shuttler to reach the Olympic badminton singles semifinals. Friday was a landmark day for Indian athletes, with several historic achievements:
Archery: Dhiraj Bommadevara and Ankita Bhakat became the first Indian mixed team to reach a medal round at the Olympics, marking a significant milestone, even though they did not secure a medal.
Hockey: Harmanpreet Singh led India to a landmark victory over Australia, their first win against the team since the 1972 Munich Olympics—a 52-year wait.
Shooting: Manu Bhaker advanced to the 25m Pistol Women’s final after finishing 2nd in qualifiers at the Chateauroux Shooting Centre. Unfortunately, Esha Singh did not make it to the final, finishing 18th in the qualifiers.
