Tottenham’s rumoured interest in Dominic Solanke has received a mixed response on social media but the Bouremouth’s stars numbers last season suggest that he might be exactly what the Lilywhites need.

It was Fabrizio Romano who reported on Thursday that Spurs are now seriously considering a move for Solanke.
The journalist suggested that he is one of many strikers that Tottenham are exploring as Ange Postecoglou’s men look to bring in a top-class number nine through the door.
However, not all Spurs fans are on board with the idea of signing the 26-year-old, with some feeling that a move for the Cherries star would signal a lack of ambition from the Tottenham board.
Dominic Solanke by numbers
Solanke netted 19 times in the Premier League last season, with only Erling Haaland, Cole Palmer, Alexander Isak and Ollie Watkins managing more goals than him (NBC Sport).
That is an impressive feat considering that Solanke was playing for a side which finished in the bottom half of the table.
Furthermore, Sky Sports have revealed that according to Wyscout’s index based on performance data, the former Liverpool man was the fourth best-performing forward in the Premier League last season.
According to the data analysis platform, only Ollie Watkins, Heung-Min Son and Jarrod Bowen outperformed him last season.

It is telling that the Spurs fans who are against the idea of signing Solanke are not able to articulate why they are against it, rather than some vague suggestion that last season might have been a flash in the pan for the striker.
The 26-year-old has no obvious weaknesses to his game and is very much a modern-day centre-forward, who would thrive in Postecoglou’s system.
