Watford are continuing to negotiate with clubs for the exit of Yaser Asprilla, but a move to French side Rennes has hit choppy waters.
Asprilla, 20, joined Watford in the January transfer window of 2022, switching from Colombian club Envigado.
He has been tipped for a potential exit from the Hornets this summer and talks have been held with French club Rennes.
He appeared to be heading for the French side, but the deal has now broken down and he is travelling back to London on a private jet with his agent, according to Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra.
The collapse of the move does not mean that Asprilla is guaranteed to stay at Watford though.
Watford are continuing to hold talks with other clubs who are interested in signing the 20-year-old this summer, while Rennes could still try again to reach an agreement.
Asprilla made 44 appearances in the Championship for Watford over the course of last season, scoring six times and providing seven assists.
The winger was a key man for the Hornets and it remains to be seen how much Watford might raise from selling him.
