Vice President Harris’s campaign announced on Friday a $310 million fundraising haul in the month of July, bringing its war chest to $377 million.
The July haul is the best grassroots fundraising month in presidential history, the campaign said. The vice president announced her intention to seek the Democratic presidential nomination after President Biden dropped out of the race on July 21, and the full July haul includes money that Biden raised before the switch.
The haul also includes the $200 million that Harris raised in the week after she announced.
The campaign said that two-thirds of the fundraising in July came from first-time donors, which was more than two million donors.
Additionally, 94 percent of donations were under $200 and July included more than ten times the number of Gen Z donors, according to the campaign.
Former President Trump’s campaign raised nearly $139 million in July, it announced Thursday. It has a total of $327 million in cash on hand.
The Harris campaign on Friday also announced that the Biden campaign, which has since become the Harris campaign, raised $1 billion since Biden launched his reelection bid in April 2023. Biden handed over the Biden-Harris fundraising committee to Harris when he dropped out of the race.
