Liverpool have lost a number of players in the summer transfer window.
Joel Matip, Thiago Alcantara and Adrian have all left the club after their contracts expired at Anfield.
Following the departure of Jurgen Klopp, the Reds entered a new era under the leadership of Arne Slot and changes are being made at the club by the new boss.
The Reds could lose another player this summer as Slot is ready to make another big change.
According to The Telegraph, Liverpool are open to selling Fabio Carvalho this summer.
The former Fulham player has failed to win a place in Liverpool’s starting line up and his time has been spent on loan to RB Leipzig and Hull City.
The player is currently with the Liverpool squad on their preseason tour of the United States.
However, he could be sold soon by the club for a considerable fee as the new manager has decided to cash in on him.
Carvalho was signed by Klopp in the summer of 2022 but he has struggled at Anfield since joining the club and now his future lies away from the Merseyside club.
When he joined the club, Klopp had high hopes from him. The former Liverpool manager told the club’s website:
“What a talent he is, hey? A player who can bring a stadium to its feet. He puts his personality into his performances, he is confident and adventurous with the ball, and he wants to make things happen.”
Carvalho has impressed on the team’s preseason tour as the youngster scored for the Reds in their 2-1 win against Arsenal.
Slot knows that the player is far down the pecking order at the club and it is better to let him leave than to just keep him as a benchwarmer.
The Portugal U21 international showed flashes of brilliance at Anfield but the new manager does not see him as a part of his plans
It is better for Carvalho to move away and continue his development elsewhere, at a club where he will be given regular chances to play football.
