“The more Dukies the better”
As you probably know, the Phoenix Suns signed Tyus Jones to a one-year deal and the remarkable point guard from Duke is pretty happy to find two members of the Brotherhood there in Mason Plumlee and especially Grayson Allen.
Jones and Allen were teammates on Duke’s 2015 national championship team and in this article, Jones says Allen was a big part of his decision to join the Suns: “That’s my guy. We go way back,” Jones says here about Allen. “Had some great conversations with him as well. I’m really looking forward to sharing the court with him again. Both on and off the court, what he stands for, how he competes, he’s the ultimate winner. He was definitely on the board with me coming here, recruiting me as well, making me feel wanted.”
But the article takes a local twist when it talks to Arizona State coach Bobby Hurley, who points out that Alaa Abdelnaby was on the roster when Hurley was with the Sacramento Kings. He talks about Kyrie Irving coming in to do rehab at Arizona State and just catching up with former Blue Devils when they come through with their various NBA teams.
What’s also impressive is the section that AZCentral.com has to list the influence and extent of the Brotherhood. It’s 516 words of pure Duke coolness.
