With a near-perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes, the series is as certified as it is a hit!
Carrie Preston, along with the cast and crew of this amazing show, may be returning sooner than you might’ve expected.

You may not be surprised that the hit series was renewed for Season 2.

CBS gave the second season a green light only a few weeks into the first’s run.
However, according to Live+35 multiplatform viewing, eleven million viewers tuned in per episode.
So, the network knew they had gold with Elsbeth Tascioni.
The series focuses on the offbeat Elsbeth Tascioni.
An unconventional but astute attorney, after a successful career in Chicago, utilizes her singular point of view to make unique observations and corner criminals alongside the NYPD.
After some controversial arrests, she is assigned to oversee a monitorship or consent decree.
Nine of the first ten episodes use the inverted detective story format.
The NYPD went through some shake-up after such an intense ending in Elsbeth Season 1 Episode 10.
First, there was the case of Lieutenant Noonan’s corruption case.
He got booted, and then Captain Wagner became salty about Elsbeth investigating him.
So, she got fired, but since Charles is such a softy, he rehired the Chicago attorney in an official consulting capacity.

The titular character has gone from a substitute detective to a full-time employee of the NYPD!
While we don’t know if that will change the story’s setup, there is one thing fans rightfully expect in Season 2.
Elsbeth Season 1 became a place to see familiar faces from all over TV.
From Jane Krakowski to Gina Gershon, every maniacal murderer was from somewhere in the broadcast stratosphere.
And when you have a recipe that works, you stick to it.
During a conversation with the press to promote the full release of the first season, Carrie Preston announced that Season 2 will have twenty episodes.
The previous season clocked in at ten, so that is quite the increase.
After so much success with the series premiere, CBS realized the hit on its hands and decided to increase the episode count.
With a “howcatchem” series, there’s a rotating door of guest stars, but thankfully, we have a good core cast.
Everyone from Elsbeth Season 1 is expected to return.

As the series began filming Season 2 on July 23, 2024, there is barely any footage to piece together a decent teaser.
However, you won’t need expert sleuthing skills to find it.

Elsbeth airs on CBS on Thursday nights at 10 pm ET/PT.
The series is expected to keep its original timeslot, and new episodes will be available the day after airing on Paramount+.
Paramount+ Essential subscribers can watch episodes live with an on-demand option afterward.
Elsbeth will return for its second season on Thursday, October 17.
