Former President Donald Trump has routinely attacked the majority of American Jews who vote for the Democratic Party -- and Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) appears to have had enough.
Speaking on the floor of the United States Senate on Wednesday, Schumer called out Trump for agreeing with a radio host this week that Vice President Kamala Harris' husband, Doug Emhoff, was a "crappy Jew."
"It's sad -- we've been here before, but it must be said again," Schumer said. "Donald Trump's comments were reprehensible, dangerous, and proof that he is disturbingly at ease with anti-Semitic rhetoric. IT might be tempting to listen to what Donald Trump said on the radio and to tune it out just as another Trump insult, but that would be a mistake."
Schumer then went into why Trump's rhetoric about American Jews was so dangerous.

"Calling Jews 'fools' and suggesting that they are bad or disloyal because of their political beliefs is not just some juvenile insult," he continued. "It's an old anti-Semitic trope, one that goes back centuries, of dual loyalty. It's been used for a very long time to drive Jews out of their homes, to paint them as untrustworthy, to deny their basic dignity. So when Donald Trump goes on air and attacks Jews for the way they vote, he knows precisely what he is doing: He is sowing the seeds of division, he is propagating naked anti-Semitism."
In the past, Trump has claimed that "any Jewish person that votes for Democrats hates their religion, they hate everything about Israel, and they should be ashamed of themselves," while also slamming "liberal Jews who voted to destroy America and Israel" in 2020 "because you believed false narratives!"
Trump also stated back in 2019 that "I think any Jewish people that vote for a Democrat, I think it shows either a total lack of knowledge or great disloyalty."
Given that more than two-thirds of American Jews supported President Joe Biden over him in 2020, Trump was saying that a supermajority of Jews in America hate both Israel and the U.S.
