The White House is set to hold a press briefing Wednesday as tensions in the Middle East have flared with the death of a top Hamas leader in Iran.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken said the U.S. has no involvement in the killing of Ismail Haniyeh.
The latest airstrike in Tehran risks ratcheting up tensions between Israel and Iran, which has blamed Israel for the attack. Israel had no immediate comment on the assassination, but the military vowed to eliminate Hamas and its leaders in the months following the Oct. 7 attack that sparked the ongoing war in the region.
The event is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. EDT.
