Manchester City full-back Yan Couto is set to fly from Brazil to Switzerland on Thursday to undergo a medical with Borussia Dortmund before sealing an initial loan move.
The German club have been close to sealing a move for the 22-year-old for some time now, though they have not been able to put the finishing touches to the transfer.
Though the initial idea was to secure a permanent switch now, Manchester City’s asking price proved difficult to deal with.
The German giants are instead signing Couto on loan with an obligation to buy kicking in next summer.
Total agreement has now been reached between the two involved clubs and Couto is now set to join Dortmund on a season-long loan deal at first.
Dortmund will pay €25m to sign Couto on a permanent basis next summer and he will then sign a five-year deal.
According to German broadcaster Sky Deutschland, Couto will fly from Brazil to Switzerland on Thursday to undergo his medical.
Couto will link up with a side who reached the final of the Champions League last season and will hope to challenge for the Bundesliga in the new campaign.
