ASDA customers have expressed their disbelief after finding their favourite festive treats in local stores.
Shoppers have been rushing out to grab winter treats at the supermarket including the Dairy Milk Snowball chocolate bar and Dairy Milk Mint Crisp – usually available only at Christmas.
Posting in the Extreme Couponing and Bargains Facebook group, a savvy shopper posted: “Anyone wanting to start Christmas early, these are now at Asda“
The photo shows that the items being sold are Cadbury’s Dairy Milk Winter Snowballs chocolate bars which are a based on the popular sweet treat. These weigh 360g each and you can grab them for £4.
Also available are the 360g bars of Dairy Milk Winter Crisp, which combine mint flavour mint chocolate with honeycomb crispy bits for £2.50.
One Facebook user described the treat as their “fave of all time”.
“Will look out for that. I love it!” responded another
“Oh the mint crisp is beautiful” commented a third chocolate-lover
We reported yesterday that other holiday chocs are on sale at Asda including Mars’ Malteaser reindeers.
A single chocolate reindeer, weighing 29g, has 157kcal and costs 55p.
We’ve checked Asda’s website, and currently these choccy treats aren’t available online, so if you’re looking to bag a bargain your best bet is to head in store.
You can find your nearest Asda store by using the supermarket’s store locator online.
All you’ll need to do is pop in your postcode, and it will show you which stores are nearby, and when they are open.
We’ve also checked other supermarkets, including Tesco, Sainsbury’s Waitrose and Amazon – but these particular festive chocolate bars seem to be out of stock.
But there are lots of other Christmas sweets currently being sold in supermarket
Quality Street chocolate tubs, made to be perfect for sharing at Christmas, have recently been seen piled on the shelves in Tesco and Morrisons causing customers to proclaim they “Might as well start preparing for Christmas.”
You can also buy packs of Cadbury Snow Balls from Morrisons online for £1.65.
Amazon has the Christmas Reindeer treats on sale, but the price is higher than Asda.
For example, you can buy a 10-pack box of Maltesers chocolate reindeer at Amazon for £15.99 – meaning each item costs £1.59.
It’s always worth checking around to find the best price so you know you’re getting a good deal.
Prices may vary day to day as well depending on what deals are on, and remember to look at delivery costs too if you’re ordering online.
Websites like Trolley and Price Spy let you compare prices on thousands of products to see which retailer is selling them cheapest.

Go own brand – if you’re not too fussed on flavour and just want to supplant your chocolate cravings, you’ll save by going for supermarket’s own brand bars.
Shop around – if you’ve spotted your favourite variety at the supermarket, make sure you check if it’s cheaper elsewhere.

Look out for yellow stickers – supermarket staff put yellow, and sometimes orange and red, stickers on to products to show they’ve been reduced.
They usually do this if the product is coming to the end of its best before date or the packaging is slightly damaged.
Buy bigger bars – most of the time, but not always, chocolate is cheaper per 100g the larger the bar.
So if you’ve got the appetite, and you were going to buy a hefty amount of chocolate anyway, you might as well go bigger.
