FAR ROCKAWAY, Queens (PIX11) – The Queens Public Library celebrated the grand opening of its new Far Rockaway Library on Tuesday.
The Far Rockaway Library, located at the intersection of Central and Mott avenues, will be open seven days a week.
The new library offers 32 public computers, 32 public laptops and nearly 30,000 books, periodicals and other materials.
The library has a teen room and computer area on its first floor, as well as separate adult and children reading areas and a meeting room on its second floor.
The Far Rockaway Library plans to offer educational and cultural programs for people of all ages.
"This dynamic building is a work of art designed to welcome, inspire, and connect everyone who comes through its doors,” said Dennis Walcott, the president and CEO of the Queens Public Library.
