“Confession for you… a lot of people don’t know I can sing and move well, but that is actually the first lie I’ll tell today,” he said at a recent press conference, via With Ashley & Co. “A guy named Nick Pauley is the guy that choreographed, and I mean he’s doing a lot of the moves that have been established previously by *NSYNC.”
“If it looks like the person who’s dancing doesn’t have arthritis, that’s him,” Ryan continued. “There’s the moments where, you know, there’s a bit of a pop and lock, except the pop, the pop really pops, like it cracks. And the lock will not unlock. So yeah, I would do anything I could to free myself up. But yeah, I will hang on Nick Pauley‘s talent. I will hang my hat on his talent there and thank him for his contribution and services.”
Since the movie’s release, Nick has taken to social media to reveal he was the one dancing in the movie, and even shared his audition video for the part, and how he had to learn the dance very fast to send it in to the Deadpool team.
“It’s true! I am Dancepool in the new ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ ???? This secret has been so hard to keep! I can’t believe I have the honor of being @vancityreynolds ‘dance’ double for the opening scene of the entire movie!!! Like what?!? What is life?” Nick wrote on Instagram.
“I went to the premiere on Monday and watching the footage back was pretty surreal. I hadn’t remembered what I freestyled in between the choreography, and it was hilarious to watch it back and be like ‘oh my god now I remember doing that,’” he continued. “When filming, I felt right at home. @vancityreynolds and @slevydirect – thank you for your encouragement and enthusiasm when bringing me onboard. It gave me a lot of purpose… an amount I haven’t felt in a while ❤️”
