Welcome to the great state of Texas, where Paramount+’s next big hit is set to make waves with the upcoming series Landman.
Another adventure comes from the creative mind that brought audiences Yellowstone and its spinoffs 1883 and 1923.
And this time, it’s in the southern frontier.
Topped with some heavy-hitting Hollywood names, Paramount+ knows it has hit the jackpot with Landman and isn’t hesitating to throw money at it.
However, you won’t have to go drilling for black gold to get all the juicy details because here’s everything we know so far about Landman Season 1!

In February 2022, Paramount+ unveiled its plans for a television series adaptation of the hit podcast “Boomtown,” aptly named “Landman,” crafted by screenwriter Taylor Sheridan.
The show will follow the Norris family as they navigate the West Texas oil industry, interacting with major players in the oil rig business.
Paramount+ must have a good feeling about the series, considering how much attention it’s getting despite not having aired yet.
By May 2024, Demi Moore confirmed that the series had scored a second season, with production commencing early 2025.
Landman is set within the world of oil rigs in West Texas, where “roughnecks and wildcat billionaires are fueling a boom so big it’s reshaping our climate, our economy, and our geopolitics.”
The TV show “Landman” is inspired by the 2019 podcast “Boomtown,” a popular 11-part series that topped streaming charts.
The podcast delved into the environmental impacts and the modern Texas oil boom, themes that the “Landman” TV series will continue to explore.
Speaking about Taylor Sheridan’s work, Demi Moore recently told Vanity Fair, “He writes incredible, complex, dynamic and delicious women who are powerful, vulnerable, flawed.
“He thinks way ahead. He’s thinking through not just one season,” Moore added.
“He’s thinking through an epic story.”

Currently, there is no official episode count, but filming has concluded.
There should be word about the length of Landman Season 1 soon.
With debut seasons, most shows start with a skeleton cast and introduce characters along the way to give audiences something to look forward to each week.
Not with Landman, though.
This show is already stacked with familiar faces, and you’d have to have been in a bunker for the last few decades not to recognize them.

There has yet to be an official trailer detailing the plot or story of Landman.
However, as filming began in February 2024 and concluded in June, audiences will likely get a teaser trailer any day now.
