Rumors of Lady Gaga‘s engagement to businessman Michael Polansky erupted in the most unconventional of ways: she was filmed introducing him as her “fiancé” while chatting with French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. After a clip of the moment went viral, sources finally confirmed that wedding bells are indeed ringing for the “Born This Way” singer.
“Lady Gaga and Michael have been engaged since the spring,” a source told Entertainment Tonight. “They’re both extremely happy and excited about this moment in their relationship.”
According to another source for People, Gaga and Polansky had been trying to keep the news away from the public. “The couple shared the happy news with family and close friends right away, but wanted to keep the engagement private otherwise,” the insider dished.
Speaking on their relationship, which began back in 2020, it seems Gaga has met her match. “They’re great together,” the source continued. “He’s excited and supportive of her career. He can’t stand being in the spotlight but lets her shine. He has his own business priorities that she’s supportive of.”
As for their next steps, we wouldn’t be surprised if they’re already wedding planning. “Everyone’s excited about them getting married,” the source said, adding that she’s “the happiest with Michael.”
“They both would love to have a family,” they added.
Over the years, while the singer and Polansky have kept their relationship private, the A Star Is Born star has many times gushed at their connection. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in 2021, she showed how important her boyfriend had become. “My dogs and the man that I love are my whole life,” she told the outlet.
A year earlier, the upcoming Joker: Folie à Deux star hinted at how excited she was to become a mom. “I will say I am very excited to have kids,” Gaga told InStyle. “I look forward to being a mom. Isn’t it incredible what we can do? We can hold a human inside and grow it. Then it comes out, and it’s our job to keep it alive.”
