A SAVVY shopper has shared how she got her hands on a beauty buy that was similar to a well-known product.
While traipsing the aisles of her local Trader Joe’s, she spotted a dupe for a $48 Sephora skincare buy.
Reddit user Metalmommy82 loves a good deal and couldn’t help sharing her beauty haul on the platform.
She stocked up on the Trader Joe’s Brazil Nut Body Wash, $5.99, with coconut oil and shea butter, and the Trader Joe’s Brazil Nut Body Butter, $5.99, with acai and guarana extracts.
She admitted that she was “obsessed” with these products.
“They smell so good and the scent lasts all day for me. I’m so glad I was able to get my hands on them because Bum Bum cream is just too expensive.
She claimed it was a dupe for the popular Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream, $48, available at Sephora.
The body cream is meant to “visibly tighten skin” and reduce cellulite.
It is formulated with caffeine-rich guaranà and infused with the “warm, gourmand scent of Cheirosa ’62.”
Although it may not have body sculpting effects, Trader Joe’s version of the body butter makes you smell like stepped out of a tropical paradise for a quarter of the price.
The strong scents of salted caramel and pistachio and the beachy notes of coconut and vanilla make it a solid competitor against the more expensive brand.
The Reddit user raved about how it “smells amazing” and makes her skin feel so soft.
“I feel it does last long like the Brazilian Bum Bum Cream. I just can’t afford to keep dropping that kind of money on that one, so I’m really glad Trader Joe’s has a much cheaper comparable version!” she said.
The Reddit user said she plans to continually stock up when she goes back to the store because they don’t carry the products year-round.
“I picked up the scrub today and a few more body butters, so I’ll let y’all know how I like the scrub!” she wrote in a comment.

“It’s a similar scent and I get so much lather that way and it smells amazing,” she added.
