Tottenham Hotspur are on a hot streak in pre-season right now, but they’ll face a stern test against the best of the Team K-League next. Here are all the details on the upcoming friendly and which players may be involved.
So far, Spurs have defeated Hearts, QPR, and the J-League XI, as well as thrashing League One outfit, Cambridge Town, in a behind-closed-doors friendly.
Ange Postecoglou‘s side are looking good, then, but there is still work to be done. Now, the team head from Japan to Korea, to take on the cream of the crop in the K-League.
Spurs take on the K-League XI on Wednesday, July 31, with a kick-off time of 12 noon in the UK.
The game is being hosted at the Seoul World Cup Stadium.
As always with Tottenham’s friendly matches, you can follow the action live on SpursPlay if you are subscribed to the platform.
Otherwise, you’ll have to wait for the highlights to drop on Tottenham’s official social media channels.
There are no major concerns for Tottenham, although Lucas Bergvall did pick up a knock in the game against the J-League XI and could be unavailable for the upcoming clash.
Meanwhile, Destiny Udogie, Ben Davies, Richarlison, and Fraser Forster are still recovering from their injuries that occurred in the backend of last season. However, it is only the latter that is a long-term issue.
Postecoglou did not take Sergio Reguilon on the tour as the Spaniard is looking for a new club. There is also a chance that Emerson Royal may be left out of the game as his move to AC Milan appears to be nearing completion (Fabrizio Romano).
There should once again be a strong mix of experienced first-team players and up-and-coming young talent in the lineup.
Interestingly, Spurs will come up against one of their latest acquisitions, as Min-hyuk Yang has been included in the K-League team for the game.
Just like the J-League game, this will not be easy at all. These are some of the best players in their division and indeed, in Asia. That said, our players are getting sharper and stronger, and as long as that continues to be the case, we will have enough to secure the victory.
