Over the weekend at San Diego Comic-Con, Jennifer Garner and her team were stuck in an elevator for over an hour. At a convention full of superheroes, why couldn’t anyone save her sooner? She documented all the stages of grief during their rescue on Instagram once they were saved. Garner started off positively and on brand, as she was making jokes about how Deadpool and Wolverine should come and save her; after all, they were at the con. However, as the elevator got hotter, she was reminded of her sitcom survival techniques, like conserving energy: “I think I heard on an episode of The Office or Brooklyn Nine-Nine or something that you’re supposed to sit, so we’re sitting.” She briefly escalated into madness, singing “99 bottles of beer on the wall” minutes before the firefighters came to rescue them. Maybe everyone was too busy with Doctor Doom to help out.
