OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — A 21-year-old detainee who was being held for violating a protective order died in his cell at the Oklahoma County Detention Center on Monday morning.
According to OCDC officials, Timothy Lee Hardin was found unresponsive in his cell at around 6:30 a.m. by detention officers while they were performing site checks. Officers and medical staff reportedly began lifesaving measure while waiting for EMS and OKCFD, but were unsuccessful.
Hardin was booked into the OCDC on May 15 on a felony charge of violating a protective order, with bond set at $10,000. Court records show Hardin had a preliminary hearing scheduled for August 29.
OCDC officials say while the investigation is still in the early stages, Hardin did not have a cellmate and was last seen by an officer and on video receiving breakfast at around 4:48 a.m.
At that time, Hardin reportedly showed no signs leading to a potential cause of death.
