Simone Biles is a style superstar both on and off the mat.
The Olympian has had many stylish moments throughout her illustrious career thus far, taking the worlds of sports and fashion by storm. Biles began practicing as a gymnast in 2003 and went on to join the illustrious “Fierce Five” team during the 2016 Olympics when she was just 19. Through trials and tribulations, Biles has become one of the most decorated gymnasts in history.
The star athlete has been seen in numerous pairs of Nike sneakers, following her last long-term partnership with the athletic brand, which ended in 2021. Since then, Biles has had some strong sneaker moments, often from brands like New Balance, On Running and even Dior on occasion.
When it comes to formal events, Biles often gravitates towards strappy sandals, sky-high platforms and peep-toe pumps from brands like Christian Louboutin, Saint Laurent, Schutz and Badgley Mischka. These days, Biles is signed with the performance brand Athleta. The athlete signed with them back in 2021 and has a clothing line with the brand. Additionally, Biles is partnered with the likes of Coca-Cola, Gap and General Mills. While attending the Women’s Sports Foundation’s 35th Annual Salute to Women In Sports Awards back in 2014, Biles kept up her love of sandal styles in a black gladiator silhouette. The sandal featured a strap-heavy construction, buckle closures, open toes and short heels that offered the star a subtle boost. Early on in her career, Biles stuck to sandal styles predominantly for red-carpeted events.
At the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards, Biles kept up her sandal streak in a gilded-heeled style. The silhouette was ankle-length and featured thick geometric straps made of a glitzy high-shine fabric that transitioned into open toes and short heels.
In a casual twist at the 2017 Laureus World Sports Awards, the athlete laced up a pair of black and white Nike sneakers. The silhouette encompassed heart-shaped graphics in a contrasting white set atop a black base with white laces and flexible rubber soles.
At an SK-II beauty campaign event in 2020, Biles showed her love for Nike in another pair of the brand’s athletic sneakers. Biles’ pair was ultra-colorful, featuring a chunky composition and a blue, white and orange colorway. Nike’s swoosh graphic was fixed to the sides and on the tongues, making the style instantly recognizable.
During her first appearance at the 2021 Met Gala, Biles stunned in a pair of sky-high platform heels courtesy of Area and Athleta. The footwear moment was all-black with decorative silver adornments. Platform imparted the look of length, effectively elongating the athlete’s silhouette.
During a pregame ceremony during a Houston Texans and Los Angeles Chargers game in 2022, Biles wore a pair of stark white ankle-length booties. The silhouette featured striking pointed toes, zipper closures and 2 to 3-inch block heels. The look isn’t super common for Biles, but a sleek and sophisticated one nonetheless.
At an AthletaWell Gold Medal Groove event in 2023, Biles laced up a pair of chunky gray and white sneakers from On Running. The style featured lace-up closures, mesh and cloth uppers and flexible rubber soles made for athletic endeavors.
