San Rafael police have arrested a suspect who allegedly robbed the Macy’s department store this month in Terra Linda.
The crime happened on July 18 at the Northgate mall in Terra Linda. Sgt. Justin Graham said the suspect stole clothing and displayed what appeared to be a handgun when security staff approached him. Security staff gave police the suspect’s license plate number after he fled.
Around 6:20 p.m. Saturday, a license plate-reading camera detected the vehicle, and officers located the suspect on Third Street. Police also discovered a BB gun in the car, and the suspect admitted that he carried the gun when he visited Macy’s on July 18, Graham said.
Cal Lee Alexander, 22, of San Rafael was booked into the Marin County Jail on suspicion of robbery. He remained in custody Monday in lieu of $75,000.
