Lucas Bergvall admits that he enjoys playing alongside Yves Bissouma in midfield and also heaped praise on both Son Heung-min and Dejan Kulusevski for helping him settle in at Tottenham.
Just a few weeks into his time at the club, Bergvall already looks comfortable in the new environment, which is perhaps a testament to the way the senior players in the squad have welcomed him.
Son Heung-min has played a leading role in helping the newcomers feel at home since being handed the captain’s armband a year ago and the Swede admitted that the 31-year-old’s help has been invaluable so far.
When asked about the South Korean, Bergvall told Football.London: “Yeah, he guides you on the pitch and helps of course.
“You can learn from him as a good footballer and see the things he’s doing so well and why he’s that good. It’s a lot of new impressions for me and a lot of things to learn from everybody in the team and especially Son.
“He’s a top player. You can see he has been doing this for a very long time. He’s a great person as well. Off and on the pitch as well he’s amazing so it’s hard not to like him.”
The newcomer admitted that he is lucky to have a fellow Swede in Dejan Kulusevski with him at Spurs, with the pair seemingly inseparable during the Asia tour.
When asked about the winger, he said: “Yeah I would say so! I would say that [he’s been my big brother].
“He’s been great. He’s been guiding me, helping me with everything around, on and off the pitch so I’m really thankful for that. To have another Swedish guy, we talk a lot and he’s helped me a lot. He’s an amazing player of course and he’s been really helpful.”
Bergvall also appears to have built a report with Bissouma, with the Mali international giving the youngster a pep talk with plenty of gestures ahead of kick-off in the friendly against QPR.
When asked about what had been discussed, the former Djurgardens man said: “It was about the game and he said to play like we had in training. We’d had a good connection [on the training ground] and to play fast and take the ball forward.
“He’s an amazing player. Really good with the ball and off the ball as well, so it really helps to have a player like that.”

Both Archie Gray and Bergvall already seem to be at home at Tottenham, which is undoubtedly a credit to Postecoglou for the kind of dressing room environment he has built at Spurs.
Hopefully, it instils the pair with the confidence to showcase their skills when opportunities do come their way.
