Karnataka has started registering FIRs against drivers exceeding 130 kmph due to high fatality rates. Effective from August 1, this rule applies to all roads, backed by speed laser guns and cameras. The Supreme Court monitoring committee's directive prompted this strict measure, aiming to curb over-speeding and reduce accident deaths across the state.
