A WOMAN has left people open-mouthed after showing off her red wedding guest dress.
Lucy, a fashion fan from Westminster, London, left social media users totally divided by her frock, after she asked for advice on what shoes to pair with the eye-catching dress.
Posting online, the blonde-haired beauty proudly showed off her tight red dress, as she shared a video with the caption ‘Shoe advice needed girlies.’
As she posed in her new House of CB dress, which retails for £189, the content creator said: “Does anyone have any advice on what sort of shoes to wear with this dress?”
She turned to the side to show off the woven maxi dress, which is sleeveless, with a scoop neck, dropped waist, gathered hem and tulle underskirt.
The wedding guest then added: “I’m going to a wedding on Friday and I think this is what I’m gonna wear, 99% sure, it’s still got the tags in just in case.
“And I’m just wondering with the fit of the dress going in and then out, what do people think?
“Do we think wedges or stilettos or another suggestion?
“I’m just stumped. I need to order today to make sure they come on time.”
But the TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @aspoonfullofhoney, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up 84,800 views.
Social media users were totally divided, not by which shoes she should wear, but by Lucy’s dress.
Whilst some thought it was ‘beautiful’, others thought wearing the colour red to a wedding wasn’t appropriate.
One user beamed: “You look beautiful, gorgeous dress.”
A second agreed: “I need this dress in my life! You looked incredibly beautiful!”

However, at the same time, not everyone was as complimentary.

I can be out the door in 20 minutes in the morning, normally do my mascara on the bus or the Tube, and spend my work from home days in my gym gear.
But when it comes to my wedding this summer, that’s all gone out the window.
Professional hair and makeup is booked for 8am, I’ve gone all out on my wedding dress, got designer shoes and even bought a second dress for the evening do.
So when I think about someone wearing a white gown to my big day, yeah I think I’d be pretty mad.
The idea behind not wearing a white dress goes back to not wanting to ‘upstage the bride’.
Which, to be fair, is unlikely. Not only has she possibly spent a small fortune on her look for the day, she’s also one of the only two people present who knows (and hopefully likes) all the guests.
So the main risk you’re taking is just making yourself look quite silly – and getting gossiped about by total strangers.
A wedding guest I met in October 2022 still sticks out in my mind. I still don’t know what was worse – the fact she was so drunk she was crashing into people on the dance floor, or her decision to wear a white dress, which was arguably marginally improved by the glass of red wine she’d drunkenly tipped down herself.
I know weddings are expensive for everyone and it’s fair enough if you don’t want to buy a whole new outfit – I’m all for re-using what’s already in your wardrobe.
Just avoid the white dress for the bride’s sake – and your own.
