Cypriot fencer Alexandros Tofalidis qualified for the last 32 of the Olympic Games on Monday morning after a crushing victory over Poland’s Andrian Wojtkowiak.
He won the round 15-10.
Tofalidis will next be in action at 2.35pm, when he faces American Nick Itkin for a place in the last 16 at the Palace of Versailles.
He goes into the afternoon’s bout as the underdog, with Itkin having won the bronze medal at the last Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2021.
