Paphos police on Sunday arrested a 29-year-old man for illegally working on the island, while they are also planning on charging his employer with illegal employment.
According to assistant chief of operations Michalis Nikolaou, officers went to an ice cream shop in Paphos after having been told that foreigners worked there illegally, and found the man working as a cleaner.
The 29-year-old appears to have lived illegally in Cyprus since July 14, and was arrested for illegal stay and illegal employment.
His employer, a 35-year-old permanent resident is expected to be charged with illegal employment and be brought before the court later on Monday.
