Gwyneth Paltrow is reacting to Robert Downey Jr. officially returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The 51-year-old MCU alum spoke out after the 59-year-old Iron Man actor revealed he’d be back as iconic villain Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday, which will lead directly into Avengers: Secret Wars.
If you didn’t know, both movies will be directed by the Russo Brothers, who directed Robert as Iron Man in Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

The two have been friends for well over a decade, playing Tony Stark and Pepper Potts in 2008’s Iron Man, which kicked off the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They appeared in more movies together, including Spider-Man: Homecoming and Avengers: Infinity War, leading to 2019’s Avengers: Endgame, which notably featured the death of Iron Man.
During a Q&A with fans on Instagram last year, she said her time with Marvel was probably over because “why do you need Pepper Potts without Iron Man?” Who knows? Maybe she’ll be back in some capacity again too!
