In reply, Sri Lanka started strong but brilliant bowling from the likes of Riyan Parag, Arshdeep Singh and Axar Patel saw the Lankan Lions get bowled out for 170 as the Men in Blue won the match comprehensively by 43 runs.
India will be hoping to seal the series with a win in the second match at the Pallekele International Stadium in Kandy.
