A 36-year-old was arrested after he was found with a 40kg stash of cannabis in his home, as well as a number of guns and bullets.
The drugs were stashed in six suitcases in the suspect’s Mesa Gitonia apartment in Limassol, police said on Sunday.
The bust unfolded on Saturday afternoon when the drug squad pulled over the 36-year-old who was driving in Limassol.
Officers found 6 grams of cannabis in his vehicle, before finding another two plastic bags with 2kg of cannabis.
They also found €12,400 in cash.
He was arrested on the spot and his apartment was searched, where the drug squad found six suitcases with 38kg of cannabis.
Another 0.5 gram of cocaine and 2 grams of cannabis were found.
Inside his closet, the drug squad found two used drugs, 14 bullets and another two cardboard boxes with 9mm calibre cartridges.
