Tottenham Hotspur have a great crop of young players coming through right now, but one teenage talent they acquired from outside has come in and generated a great deal of buzz around the club this summer.
That’s according to Alasdair Gold in a new report for Football.London, which cites Archie Gray as a player who has got tongues wagging behind the scenes at Tottenham already, with big things expected in the future.
Gray only joined the club this month, but has made a big impression already. It is said the hype surrounding the 18-year-old from within Spurs is “huge,” with many commending not just his talent but also his personality and attitude, too.
The report adds that Gray “could be the club’s superstar in the centre of the pitch” for many years to come if he keeps going at the current rate.
Interestingly, the report mentions how Gray is a “delight, full of enthusiasm” when it comes to speaking to the media, too.
Signed from Leeds at the start of July, Gray has gone straight into Ange Postecoglou‘s first-team setup, taking part in training sessions and the pre-season friendlies, and seemingly adjusting with ease to the step up to Premier League standards.
Gray played a massive 52 games in all competitions for Leeds United last season in the Championship. He flourished in both a central midfield role and at right-back, too.
Having been given the number 14 shirt at Spurs, there is a belief that the youngster will be a regular fixture in Postecoglou’s squad for the coming season.

Everything I hear and see of Gray just fills me with so much excitement, and I’m really glad we were able to sign him.
We have to be careful not to get carried away, but as long as we handle his development properly (which I’m sure we will), he should have a really great future in the game.
