As women’s basketball is reaching more and more viewers at home, some of the biggest stars of the WNBA are in Paris tasked with spreading their star power and bringing home yet another gold medal for Team USA.
For the last seven Olympic Games, Team USA women’s has won gold. This team is favorites to do so again, and the experience will help: Napheesa Collier, Chelsea Gray, Jewel Lloyd and A’ja Wilson all participated in the 2020 Games; Brittney Griner and Breanna Stewart have been in two Olympics, 2016 and 2020; and the GOAT herself, Diana Taurasi, is set to become the first USA Basketball athlete to ever compete in six Olympic Games.
Before they were stars of the basketball world, though, these players were breaking out in high school with eyes set on their collegiate experience. Take a look at their high schools and recruiting leading up to their first game, which is scheduled for July 29.
