The work to overhaul the Tottenham Hotspur squad ahead of the 2024/25 season is continuing to take place.
While Ange Postecoglou and the Tottenham squad have just finished the Japanese leg of their pre-season tour with a 3-2 win over Vissel Kobe, one player who was left back at home is preparing to head out of the door.
Fabrizio Romano has taken to social media platform X to reveal that Bryan Gil is expected to complete his loan move to Girona on Monday.
The winger was omitted from the squad for the tour of Asia to secure his exit from the club, along with Sergio Reguilon.
Gil is set to sign a new contract with Tottenham prior to the loan being sanctioned which will see the Spanish international’s new deal contain a €15m (£12.6m) release clause.
The midfielder arrived in North London in the summer of 2021 in a £21.6m, with Erik Lamela moving to Sevilla as part of the deal (Sky Sports).

Fabrizio Romano’s mention of Gil signing a new deal will certainly have surprised many fans, hopefully it is simply a formality in order to get the deal over the line with an obligation to purchase.
