BBC SPORT’S coverage of the Olympic Games was disrupted by WINDOW CLEANERS this afternoon.
Hazel Irvine was joined in the Paris studio by pundit Tonia Couch to discuss diving when the two men appeared outside.
The presenter quickly paused to joke about the disruption live on air, saying: “Can you see this behind me? Because we’ve got two gentlemen fixing our studio.
“I don’t think they know they’re on telly at the moment!”
Viewers found the bizarre interference hilarious, with one person taking to X to write: “Live Olympic window cleaning on the BBC!”
Another commented: “Window cleaners have just turned up on the BBC coverage .”
A third said: “Just a casual bit of window cleaning in the middle of the BBC coverage .”
While a fourth wrote: “The rain is still TIPPING down in Paris. And now the BBC have had to get the window cleaners in whilst they’re on air.”
Fans watching on BBC One were less impressed with the green screen effects used earlier in the day.
Presenter Jeanette Kwakye was joined by JJ Chalmers and Fred Sirieix to kick off the day’s coverage.
