Prospective Caen investors ‘want to meet’ the entourage of striker Alexandre Mendy, who is still waiting to seal a move to Sunderland this summer.
The 30-year-old striker has made his wish to join Sunderland this summer very apparent through his public statements.
Sunderland have also been trying to get a deal over the line for the striker since last week but for the moment, negotiations have stalled as Caen want more money.
Mendy is still keen to move to Sunderland and continues to train apart from the rest of the Caen squad.
However, according to the French outlet Foot Mercato, prospective new investors in Caen ‘want to meet’ the striker’s entourage.
They are seemingly trying to convince the striker to stay as they look to pump in fresh investment into the French second-tier club.
Mendy has the ambition of playing in England and is pushing to move to the Stadium of Light this summer.
However, the deal is stuck as potential new investors of Caen are looking to convince him to stay put, not wanting to lose the man who top scored in Ligue 2 for them last term.
