A small plane made a terrifying crash landing right in the front yard of a home.
The unusual incident was captured by a security camera on the northern Utah home.
CCTV footage shows a small white aircraft slamming onto the lawn and sliding slightly toward the porch, but stopping short of it. Pieces of debris scatter, but the plane remains largely intact.
The crash landing left Anthony Baugh, who resides in the home, to go into an immediate ‘panic trying to get home as fast as I could’, he told ABC4.
Two people were aboard the aircraft when it crashed near 4500 South and 2350 West shortly before 4pm on Wednesday, according to Roy Police Department Sgt Josh Taylor.
Both people miraculously escaped with only minor injuries.
No one in the home or neighborhood were hurt. The plane was damaged and the Baugh’s home may have been impacted too.
Baugh said he saw one of the victims with a cut near his eye and that the other seemed to be in a state of shock.
A neighbor, Katie Quigley, told the TV station that the pilot and passenger walked away from the crash. She added that the aircraft landed on two trees instead of following a trajectory straight into Baugh’s home.
‘A lot of people here were blessed today,’ Baugh said.
Still, the crash was somewhat traumatizing for Baugh’s family.
‘My eldest one, he was shaken up a little bit, we had some family members that passed away in a plane crash a few years ago so it was a little nerve-racking,’ he explained.
The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
It is being investigated by the police department, the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board.
The incident occurred more than five months after a small plane crashed into a mobile home park in Clearwater, Florida, and killed several people including the pilot and two residents.
