Darius Acuff, the No. 1 point guard in the class of 2025, committed to Arkansas on Friday.
The 6-foot-3 IMG Academy guard chose the Razorbacks over Kansas. He officially visited Arkansas back in May and Kansas in April. He is the first Arkansas commit for 2025.
“It was a great visit,” Acuff told ZAGSBLOG of Arkansas where his primary recruiters were head coach John Calipari and assistant Chin Coleman. “It’s the same situation as Kentucky, just it’s a different school. I love Coach Cal.”
“Coach Cal is a great coach and been with me since the start,” he said during the commitment.
He visited Kentucky last fall when Calipari was still the coach and called it a “family environment.”
Acuff was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the FIBA U18 AmeriCup 2024 after leading the United States to another gold medal in June. The 17-year-old was instrumental in guiding his country in their 110-70 win over host country Argentina, finishing with 26 points, 9 assists, 6 rebounds and 3 steals (37 efficiency) in the final played at Estadio Obras Sanitarias in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
