India’s PM Modi: Pakistan using ‘Terrorism and Proxy War’ to stay relevent
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Friday that Pakistan is trying to stay relevant through “terrorism” and “proxy war,” but its “unholy plans” will never succeed.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also accused Pakistan of failing to learn from its “shameful” actions and past failures, continuing to maintain its connections to terrorism and proxy wars.
Modi stated that Islamabad’s “sinister plans” would never succeed.
This came on Friday, after Modi visited the memorial for soldiers killed in the 1999 India-Pakistan conflict in the Kargil region of the Himalayas. He said he speaks from a place where “supporters of terrorism” will clearly hear his voice.
The Indian Prime Minister said, “Pakistan’s nefarious efforts in the past have met with failure, but the country continues to attempt to aid terrorism and proxy wars.”
Relations between India and Pakistan, two nuclear-armed neighbors in South Asia, have been tumultuous for decades. India accuses Pakistan of supporting anti-Delhi Islamist militants in Kashmir.
Both countries claim full ownership of the Himalayan region of Kashmir but currently control separate parts of it.
Pakistan has denied Indian officials’ allegations of supporting militants, stating it only provides “diplomatic and moral support” to Kashmiris seeking self-determination.
Modi, referring to the controversies in the Jammu and Kashmir region, stated that India will overcome any challenges to the development of the country.
Meanwhile, the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan remain deeply rooted in historical animosities and strategic differences.
Modi’s strong words underscore India’s stance against what it perceives as Pakistan’s support for terrorism and interference in Kashmir.
The diplomatic and military complexities continue to define their relationship, influencing regional stability and international perceptions.
Efforts to resolve these issues remain elusive amid periodic escalations and diplomatic maneuvers aimed at asserting respective national interests in the region.
