The USA has six teams at the Paris Olympics, two indoors and four beach.
By the time action concludes Monday night, all of them will have competed.
The men’s beach team of Andy Benesh and Miles Partain get things going at 2 p.m. Paris time Saturday. At 9 p.m., the USA indoors men play Argentina and then at 10 p.m., the women’s beach team of Taryn Kloth and Kristen Nuss hit the sand. They will be easiest of all USA teams to watch back home, since all three of their pool-play matches start at 10 p.m. local time.
Sunday, the beach team of Sara Hughes and Kelly Cheng have a 10 p.m. match. And then Monday, the beach team of Chase Budinger and Miles Evans play at 4 p.m., the USA women play China at 5 p.m., and TKN are back at it at 10 in front of the Eiffel Tower.
A complete USA schedule follows with Paris times for all indoors matches and all USA beach matches.
We also have in the list the beach teams with NCAA ties, including Tina Graudina (USC) of Latvia and her partner Anastasija Samoilova, the TCU Spanish pair of Daniela Alvarez and Tania Moreno, and Canadians who are regulars on the AVP, Brandie Wilkerson and Melissa Humana-Paredes and Sophie Bukovec (USC) and Heather Bansley.
A few things to consider: Paris is six hours ahead of Eastern time and nine hours ahead of Pacific. Which means those 10 p.m. TKN matches will be live at 1 p.m. on the West Coast.
There are basically two ways to watch. One is on NBC and its family of channels, including USA Network, MSNBC and CNBC. Be forewarned: NBC will not show all of our volleyball teams live in full. Expect cut-ins, features on other sports that take away from live action, and, well, things we just don’t understand.
The alternative is NBC’s pay-to-watch Peacock app. This gives you the option to stream and see every match — and other sports — live and in their entirety. If you want to watch teams other than Americans, we recommend the NBC various apps. Click here for NBC/Peacock information and schedules.
NBC sent four to Paris for its beach coverage, Chris Marlowe, Kevin Wong, Dain Blanton and Misty May-Treanor. Paul Sunderland, Kevin Barnett and Salima Rockwell will call women’s and men’s indoors from the NBC studios in Connecticut. Heather Cox will also be in Paris.
All times Paris local, 6 hours ahead of Eastern U.S., 9 hours ahead of Pacific
