I consider myself to be a sneakerhead. I have at least 35 pairs, including everything from Nike and Jordans, to adidas, New Balance, and so much more. While I have favorites for different reasons, I never thought in a million years that my most comfortable pair wouldn’t be from one of the above mentioned brands. Nope, they’re from a highly underrated sneaker brand called Ryka — and right now, you can find a ton of pairs marked down during Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale.
In case you didn’t already know, Ryka is the first shoe brand to create athletic sneakers specifically for women. While most shoes can be considered unisex, a woman’s foot is uniquely shaped, and Ryka has created sneakers with foot shape, muscle movement, and build in mind. That’s probably why I find them to be so comfortable. They offer plenty of styles for every activity, from walking and running to hiking and playing pickleball — they even have sneakers for water sports!
Even though I have a couple of pairs at this point, my absolute favorite is the Trailblazer Walking Shoe, which is on sale at Nordstrom. I love to wear the Trailblazers on my hot girl nature walks. They have a rubberized outsole with threaded technology, so they grip the ground and help you feel steady on uneven surfaces. The midsole is made with the brand’s ACTIVfoam™ cushion, so they feel incredibly soft and comfortable with every step you take. Plus, they look pretty cool — the leather upper with reflective strips and mesh paneling gives this shoe an elevated look that anyone would want to wear.
But perhaps you’re not into such a bulky shoe; Ryka has many other options to choose from. For instance, the Devotion X Max Walking Shoe (another love of mine) offers some of the same qualities as the Trailblazer, like ACTIVfoam™ in the midsole and a durable rubber outsole, just not as thick. And while it may be thinner, the technology is still just as impressive. The Devotion X Max has built-in compression channels for shock absorption, so your feet and body don’t have to take on any added tension.
Ryka’s sneakers are genuinely amazing, and Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale is the perfect time to snag a pair. But remember, these prices won’t last for long, so run, don’t walk and check out check out some other great sale styles below.

I love everything about these trailblazer sneakers, from the cute chunky dad style to the incredibly soft cushion midsole. Although the Devotion X Max is a walking shoe, I think they’re great for everything. I wear these to the gym and to run errands, and I sometimes even use them during my HIIT workouts. They’re the ultimate everyday activewear shoes that look really stylish without being too technical.

If you consider yourself to be a certified pickleball-er or just enjoy playing the game, getting these comfy pickleball sneakers could do you some good. They’re made with a crisp white sole so they’re acceptable to wear on any court even one with the strictest rules. Plus, they’re very lightweight so you can move around the court with ease.
