FOXBORO, Mass. — Despite the outside opinion of the state of the New England Patriots’ quarterback room, Ja’Lynn Polk is confident in who the team has.
The current quarterbacks include Drake Maye, Jacoby Brissett, Bailey Zappe and Joe Milton III. Head coach Jerod Mayo on Tuesday identified Brissett as the starter going into training camp.
In the first few days of training camp, Polk has been impressed by each quarterback and what they have brought to the field. With the impression they have left on the wide receiver, Polk made a big statement after training camp Thursday.
“All those guys put in lots of work that nobody sees,” Polk told reporters. “All those quarterbacks do things that’s unordinary. They have things in their duffle bag that not many other people have, and they’re very special. I believe we got the best quarterback room out here.”
Throughout the day Thursday, the Patriots quarterbacks made multiple connections with Polk. One of Maye’s most eye-catching plays of the day was a throw over the middle to the rookie wide receiver.
While Polk looked to have good chemistry with Maye on the field, he stood firm on his belief that he has a good relationship with all the quarterbacks.
“I got a good relationship with all the QBs,” Polk said. “I take pride in having a great relationship with the guys on the team. So I can say everybody is doing a great job and it’s exciting.”
