A POPULAR fizzy drink is making its’ comeback six years after it was removed from supermarket shelves.
Fans were gutted when Tango Cherry disappeared in 2018, but luckily for them, it’s available to purchase once again in Iceland stores only.
The news was announced earlier this week, and shoppers are now beginning to spot the item in stores.
Writing on the Food Finds UK Facebook group, one person shared a photo of a can of Tango Cherry and wrote: “TANGO CHERRY IS COMING BACK next month in Iceland stores after being discontinued years ago!!.”
At the time of writing, more than fifty social media users commented on the announcement or tagged someone else.
One person simply said: “Need to try that.”
Another commented: “Surely it wasn’t 6 years ago we used to get them when snack bar, has it really been that long.”
Someone else wrote: “Anyone from Preston it’s already in the one in the town centre.”
One person questioned: “Do they have bottles?”
Another answered: “No just the cans.”
Someone else spotted cans of Tango Cherry being sold in Iceland, and shared a photo in the Food Finds UK Facebook group, alongside the caption “Found in Iceland £9.50.”
One fan described the drink as “the best Cherry drink ever in my eyes”.
Previously, Tango Cherry was so popular, that one devastated shopper even started a Change.org petition to get it back in production.
One wrote: “Please bring back cherry Tango I loved it. It was my fave. Please.”
“No no no please bring cherry Tango back,” agreed another.
“Please bring back cherry Tango it was my old-time favourite when I was in college the best flavour ever,” said someone else.
A fourth added: “Please bring it back, no other cherryade comes close.”
Now, a spokesman has confirmed the fan favourite is making a comeback.
Tango Cherry Sugar-Free will be hitting shelves in Iceland stores nationwide in August.
Fans can nab a 500ml bottle for £1.99, or a 2L bottle for £3.19, while a multipack of eight cans costs £5.29.
If you prefer to buy in bulk or set to host an event this summer, the 24-can multipack will set you back £12.49.
A national rollout will be kickstarted in October this year.
A Britvic spokesperson confirmed: “Gone are the days craving for a hint of Cherry flavour.
“Tango Cherry is here to remind you what real cherry tang should taste like. It’s bold, it’s invigorating, and it’s back.
“Why? Because we have the irresistible tangy punch that only Tango Cherry delivers.”
Asia Banger, Brand Manager at Tango, added: “We’ve heard our fans loud and clear. Tango Cherry is not just a drink; it’s a bold statement.
“We’re thrilled to bring back the tangy taste that people have been missing, and we promise, it’s better than ever.”
Tango also released Raspberry Blast and Cherry Blast flavours, the two Ice Blast slushy tastes.
Fans can also get an alcoholic Tango Ice Blast cocktail, but it’s only available in one British bar.
And, the Britvic soft drink brand has rolled out a third new fizzy drink flavour – Tango Mango.
Tango Cherry is not the only retro product to be revived.
In other exciting news, Nestle confirmed it has brought back an iconic chocolate bar discontinued after six decades – and shoppers are buzzing.
The chocolatier is reintroducing three varieties of its Caramac bar to shelves from today.
Nestlé said sweet-toothed customers can purchase a classic Caramac single bar, three-bar multipack and a sharing bag of buttons across several retailers including Iceland, B&M and Spar.
Recommended retail prices are 75p, £1.65 and £1.65 respectively, although final pricing is decided by the retailer.
But shoppers must act fast as the caramel-flavoured bars are only available while current stocks last.
Nestlé relaunched a strawberry-flavoured Aero bar in April but some shoppers had only just started realising.
Posting on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains Facebook Group, one said: “Had this in the 70s, glad it’s back!”
Another added: “They were my fave as a kid… stock up cos they will disappear again soon!”
A third said: “Too moreish ate it in one sitting.”
It comes after Nestlé was forced to abandon a new recipe for one of its iconic brands after fans slammed the “awful” new formula.
Cadbury confirmed it had brought back a “yummy” 90s chocolate bar after giving it a makeover last month.
One of the nation’s favourite chocolate brands announced it would relaunch its Top Deck bar across the UK.
Cadbury said the the much-loved bar, which first launched in 1993, would only be returning to shelves for a limited time though.

When buying online, always do a search for money off codes or vouchers that you can use vouchercodes.co.uk and myvouchercodes.co.uk are just two sites that round up promotions by retailer.
Scanner apps are useful to have on your phone. Trolley.co.uk app has a scanner that you can use to compare prices on branded items when out shopping.
Bargain hunters can also use B&M’s scanner in the app to find discounts in-store before staff have marked them out.
And always check if you can get cashback before paying which in effect means you’ll get some of your money back or a discount on the item.
