Tottenham have been handed a potential boost in their pursuit of one particular target this summer, after it was revealed that the player has been left out of his club’s pre-season tour and is training alone, suggesting a move is on the horizon.
Apparently, Federico Chiesa has been left in the shadows at Juventus of late, and with speculation linking him with a move to the Premier League, the attacker has been excluded from first-team activities this week.
The report from Gianluca Di Marzio comes after a clip was shared by Giovanni Albanese, in which Chiesa arrived at the Juventus training facilities after the rest of the squad had jetted off to Germany.
Chiesa has touched down at the club’s medical building for medical checks after returning from international duty for Italy, which ironically had him based in Germany for Euro 2024.
The winger will now be training alone while the rest of the squad take part in pre-season friendlies. It is thought Chiesa will instead be left to his own devices so he can “calmly decide his future.”
Juventus have not offered the player a new contract, and with his current deal set to expire in 2025, Chiesa will be evaluating all his options.
Tottenham are thought to be very interested in acquiring Chiesa this summer, and have already put forward an offer of £6m-per-year for the player (Caught Offside).
It is believed Chiesa would prefer to leave Italy now and take on a challenge elsewhere (TuttoJuve).
Spurs Web Opinion
If we could get the best out of a player like Chiesa, he would be an incredible signing.
I believe he’s been held back by the way things work at Juventus and the playing style there, but he could flourish under Ange Postecoglou’s more exciting system.
