The new £75million holiday park, which is known as Windy Harbour is being built by The Partington Group — a family-run business.
Development work has already started on the site, with internal roadwork being constructed.
Despite only being in its early stages, the Partington Group have already described the holiday park as being “aspirational escapism” as reported by local paper Place North West.
Once Windy Harbour eventually opens to the public, it is expected to feature 495 lodges as well as a three-storey hotel with more than 100 rooms on its 166-acre site.
There will also be a luxury spa, a wellbeing centre with a leisure facility and a reception block.
Windy Harbour will have plenty of amenities, including a pool, gym, running tracks, a bar and restaurant as well as an indoor golf course.
The new holiday park is being built by the Partington Group — a family-run business who already own another site called Windy Harbour Holiday Park.
The new Windy Harbour Holiday Park will be located right next to the company’s existing site.
Planning permission was granted back in January, 2022, when Pure Leisure Group was tasked with delivering the project.
Last year, the Partington Group acquired the site from Pure Leisure Group for £35million.
The chief executive of The Partington Group, Rob Kearsley told the Place North West: “This bold investment in a thrilling new leisure destination for the North West builds on our years of expertise in running successful holiday parks for all.
“It also comes as Partington celebrates its 80th anniversary and showcases our dedication to keep moving the business forward.”
Andrea Challis, fellow Partington chief executive, added: “Every aspect of this inspiring new development is thoughtfully crafted to consider the needs of our visitors and their lifestyle and leisure aspirations whilst also providing our team with an outstanding destination they will be proud to be part of.”
