DEL VALLE, Texas (KXAN) -- A man was sentenced to five years in state prison for a murder that happened at a trailer in Del Valle in February 2022.
Marcos Mendoza was charged with first-degree murder after an argument while people were trying to change a flat tire eventually led to one person being shot to death, according to court documents.
Mendoza pled guilty and was indicted on the murder charge. He will serve five years in a Texas Department of Criminal Justice facility for his involvement in the shooting.
Mendoza was also sentenced to 20 years in prison for a first-degree murder charge stemming from a 2018 case. He also pled guilty and was indicted in that case.
The sentences will run concurrently.
Mendoza has 894 days of jail credit, which is just under two and a half years.
