Matthew Judon’s contract situation will be a major storyline of training camp for the New England Patriots.
That’s been emphasized after the Pro Bowler reposted a mock trade on X that sent him to the San Francisco 49ers as part of a package for talented wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk.
“I don’t run my Twitter (X),” Judon reminded reporters at Gillette Stadium on Wednesday, per NESN’s Sean McGuire. “People be tweeting stuff and I’ll be reading. I don’t run my Twitter.”
Judon reiterated that he’s only on the platform from a few conversations. The star Patriots defender did share that amid all the trade rumors, his relationships with his fellow linebackers and defensive coaches have kept him happy in New England.
With that said, he’s not oblivious to the trade scenarios for the Patriots.
“If I go to San Francisco, I’ve seen trades to Atlanta and Detroit and all that stuff,” Judon added. “The stuff y’all see, I see as well. I just don’t buy into it. Once they tell me where I’m going, that’s when I’m gone.”
Judon is at training camp and participating despite still voicing his desire for a new contract. The Patriots are in the early stages of building their next foundation and have decisions to make surrounding their top defender.
