TRAVIS COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — A woman was sentenced to state prison for the 2021 murder of her mother in Travis County, according to court documents.
Wylumva Ngongoseke, 29, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 15 years in state prison on July 17, according to Travis County court documents. She has 891 days of jail time credit.
Travis County deputies found Catherine Ngongoseke, 60, dead with stab wounds inside a Travis County home after a neighbor reported concerns about her well-being, according to the sheriff's office.
A few days later, Wylumva Ngongoseke was named as the suspect in her mother's death, the Travis County Sheriff's Office said in 2021. Foreign authorities arrested her in Tanzania in February 2022.
Wylumva Ngongoseke remains in Travis County jail as of Wednesday, per jail records.
