The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) on Wednesday announced important updates related to its anti-money laundering (AML) exams for certified persons.
The exams are designed to confirm that individuals appointed as AML compliance officers have received adequate training, although other employees working in finance may also take them to bolster their knowledge on the covered topics.
Additionally, these exams validate that compliance officers possess the required knowledge and can perform their responsibilities effectively.
According to CySEC’s announcement, the revised exams, which will utilise an updated workbook and syllabus, are set to commence on October 3, 2024.
This change, the commission explained, aligns with paragraph 7(2) of the Directive on the Certification of Persons and Certification Registers (R.A.D. 44/2019).
The commission added that the current exams, based on the existing workbook and syllabus, will continue until September 26, 2024.
Moreover, the updated exam syllabus for the AML qualification is now available on the CySEC website, accessible through the provided link.
The announcement also said that candidates who have registered on the CySEC website will receive the new exam guide, referred to as the workbook by the commission, by email. The guide will be sent within a week of completing their registration.
For further details or inquiries about the exams, candidates are advised to contact CySEC at certifications@cysec.gov.cy.
