Neeraj Chopra will be defending his Tokyo 2020 javelin gold medal at Paris Olympics 2024.
New Delhi: Indian superstar Neeraj Chopra put Indian athletics on the world map after winning a historic gold at the Tokyo Olympics three years back. Since then he has gone from strength to strength winning the silver medal in the 2022 World Championships, the 2022 Asian Games as well as the number one position in the 2022 Diamond League Finale. He won bettered his 2022 World Championships silver with a gold in 2023.
Neeraj will head to Paris Olympics 2024 as the favourite to defend his javelin gold medal on August 8 next month. He will face tough competition from the likes of Jakub Vadlejch, Anderson Peters, Julian Weber and Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem – who all have personal bests (PBs) are better than the Indian’s 89.94m mark.
