A MUM has decided to take the summer holidays as a break for herself instead of her ‘revolting’ teens.
The summer holidays had barely started and she was already sick of her two teenagers.
Taking to social media, she said: “School have broken up today.
“My two teenagers have skulked in through the door, traipsing muddy footprints through the freshly mopped hallway (they cannot be arsed to remove their shoes despite my pleading for them to do this every day for the last 10 years).”
In typical teenage fashion, her 14-year-old daughter screamed at her mum as soon as she got home all because her phone wasn’t charged which was her mum’s fault.
She explained: “Apparently it’s MY fault because apparently I washed her power pack (she cannot be bothered to empty out her blazer pockets before it goes through the wash despite me asking her ten times to bring down her laundry).”
To top it off, her 15-year-old son was moaning about the dinner and vegetables she was prepping – storming to his ‘filthy’ room to order pizza and play on the Xbox all day.
The mum continued: “These kids are revoltng to me daily, as well as to each other.
“They huff and puff at every (very reasonable) request of mine.”
And that’s not all, she said she was constantly compared to their friend’s parents and they were constantly demanding more money.
“They are spoilt brats that I never spoilt growing up,” she continued.
Despite giving them an allowance every two weeks, the kids were both constantly asking for more while doing nothing to help their mum around the house.
“Both just expect me to clean it all and when I pull them up on it they just throw tantrums,” the mum said.
“Daughter told me I belong in an asylum because I asked her to take out the recycling for me last week!”
She had tried everything to arrange nice days out while they were away from school for six weeks, but her kids had no interest.
Instead, the mum said they would much rather sit in their rooms all day addicted to their devices all day – so she had given up on them.

Museums – Some museums offer free entry to some exhibits, and also host events for kids.
Parks – Head to your local park to enjoy the playgrounds, games areas, courts and splash pads. Some even have trails for kids to enjoy.
Beach – It doesn’t have to be sunny to enjoy the beach, you can go rock pooling, crabbing, make sandcastles, or enjoy a walk along the headland.
Library – If the weather is awful, head indoors and borrow books, audiobooks, dvds.
Cooking – Have your own mini bake-off, or Come Dine With Me challenge.
Playdates – Invite friends over for an afternoon of socialising.
Boardgames – Enjoy a little sibling rivalry with rounds of Monopoly or stretch your brain with Scrabble.
She added: “Anyway, I GIVE UP.
I have written off these holidays and am taking time for just me. All of my 20s and half my 30s sacrificed for this pair of lazy sods and they treat me with utter contempt.
“I have planned some lovely coastal walks and a few lunch dates with some old friends, and my ungrateful kids can b**ger off and entertain themselves now!”
The post was shared on Mumsnet where it soon garnered lots of attentions from other mums.
People were quick to tell the mum to stop giving them money and take away their phones until their attitude changes.
One person wrote: “Take away their phones and Xbox and go out and have fun.”
Another commented: “For each incident of unpleasantness/ slobbyness you need to remove something that you do for them.”
“Stop allowance immediately. Their choice. Behave reasonably or no money,” penned a third.
Meanwhile a fourth said: “Stop allowance immediately. Their choice. Behave reasonably or no money.”
“This your doing. Stop giving them money. Stop cooking for them. Stop doing their laundry. STOP,” claimed a fifth.
Someone else added: “I wouldn’t be giving them an allowance. I know teens can be vile (I had one) but they sound very rude and ungrateful.”
