PAC using Nikki Haley's name defies cease-and-desist order from Trump-backing ex-candidate

A group of former Nikki Haley voters defied the failed Republican candidate's cease-and-desist order and vowed to continue their work supporting Kamala Harris.

The disaffected GOP primary voters had been backing president Joe Biden but pivoted to the vice president after he dropped out of the race, and Haley sent a cease-and-desist order to the PAC, now called Haley Voters for Harris, demanding they stop using her name.

"Kamala Harris and I are total opposites on every issue. Any attempt to use my name to support her or her agenda is deceptive and wrong," Haley said in a statement posted to Fox's website. "I support Donald Trump because he understands we need to make America strong, safe, and prosperous."

A senior adviser to the political action committee cited Haley's endorsement of Trump at last week's Republican National Convention in her statement pledging to continue the group's work.

"Our members were devoted Haley voters who finally felt their conservative principles represented again when she was running," said PAC senior adviser Emily Matthews. "We volunteered and hustled hard for her. But just as Haley changed her mind & endorsed Trump, our voters are allowed to do the same. Period."

The PAC responded to a Fox News post on Haley's order by pointing out they had sent more than 2.1 million text messages and mailers to 1.1 million people in nine states, so they had "more than earned the right to encourage Haley voters to vote for Kamala Harris."

"A wide coalition of Rs, Is, and Ds came together to support Nikki Haley in the primaries," the PAC posted on its X account. "We are proud of our work to support her. Haley voters will vote how they want in November."
